About Denise

Denise Kirby ~

Kansas City

DWI attorney.

I began practicing law in 1994. I am a member in good standing with the State Bars of Missouri and Kansas. I am the President of The Missouri DWI Defense Institute. I am on the Board of Directors of the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and I serve as one of five members of the DWI Committee. I am co-Chair of the third largest legal education seminar for attorneys in the state of Missouri, the Bernard Edelman DWI Law and Science Seminar, which is held annually at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Based in Kansas City, my philosophy in DWI cases centers on protecting my clients’ rights from government overreach, mistakes by law enforcement, and the “watered down justice” we see all too often in the legal system today. My offer to you is easily put: I will do my absolute best to help you get the result you desire in your DWI case.

    Why My Clients Hire Me

Because I sincerely care about them and provide them with excellent legal service.

People sense sincerity and tend to reciprocate it.  I treat my clients with great care and respect.  They know that I am there to protect them.  And they appreciate it.

It is the commitment to continuous learning, finding answers, and keeping at the cutting edge that makes for the best DWI lawyer.  Constantly learning and gaining knowledge is a must for top DWI lawyers and that is exactly why I get the results I get.

I have a personal commitment to excellence.  I study, choose, develop, refine, and present arguments that have sound legal and factual support. That is how I stand on solid ground and insist on bringing about the desired results. I guard and protect my credibility and integrity.  When I do my best, I allow excellence to permeate my practice, and in doing so, my clients reap the benefits.

A bit of personal information about me …

    Before Law School

I grew up in the Kansas City area and obtained my Bachelor of Science degree (with honors) from Missouri State University in 1990.

    During Law School

I then attended Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. and obtained my law degree — JD or Juris Doctor.

    Budding Lawyer

After passing the Bar and working for Kansas City’s largest law firm, I decided to venture out on my own. I knew it was going to be challenging to open my own practice, but I decided to pursue that route. In hindsight, I made an excellent decision. I possessed the intellect, stick-to-it-ness, courage, and ability to eventually thrive.
